Some Info on the Golf Tours
Do we all fly out from the same airport?
No, you choose your departure airport, but we all land in Shannon Airport in Shannon, Ireland.
How do I get to Shannon?
On a daily basis, two flights enter Shannon – one at 6 AM and one at 7 AM. You will need to be on one of these flights. Generally, flights from the U.S. will connect or depart from Boston, or JKF in New York. These are the two flights into Shannon.
When departing from the U.S., it’s important to fly directly to Shannon, not through any other European airports, as this will ensure you land at the correct time in Shannon to meet with the coach and Barry.
Our coach will leave Shannon Airport between 7:30AM and 8AM.
How do I leave Shannon?
Our coach transports you from our final hotel to Shannon Airport at 7AM and 10AM for departing flights. Only two flights depart Shannon bound for the U.S. on a daily basis, one at 9AM and one at noon.
What do I need to pack?
Everything from shorts to rain gear; this is Ireland, after all. Be prepared for chilly weather and showers, but also be prepared for sunny warm days. Ireland’s weather is infamously sporadic, so being prepared for the changes will make the trip amazing from beginning to end. Two pairs of golf shoes. Your clubs.
What golf gear should I bring?
Supplies and equipment are generally less expensive in America. We suggest bringing all of the balls, tees, gloves, etc. with you.
What are our tee times?
Generally, we schedule tee times between 11AM and noon.
Do I need to rent a car?
No, we provide transportation in a personal luxury coach directly from Shannon Airport.
Do we meet at the airport or at our first hotel?
Barry will meet you upon arrival in Shannon Airport with an Irish smile.
Are all of my meals included?
All of your breakfasts and dinners are included with the trip and your lunch on the day of arrival. Usually, everyone grabs their own lunch at the golf course. We have dinner at some of the finest restaurants in Ireland, read more on the tour specifics page.
Do we do anything besides golf?
Absolutely! This trip is an experience of Irish hospitality. We introduce our golfers to traditional Irish music, local bands, some great local pubs, and amazing restaurants. We get you out of the touristy areas of Ireland and show you the Irish culture and people from a local’s perspective.
Who is our guide?
Barry and his family are on every trip to greet you as soon as you land until saying goodbye upon departure. Read a little bit more about Barry here.
Does Barry play golf with us?
Absolutely! Barry is a 1-handicap and never misses an opportunity for camaraderie on the links.
And these are some gems that previous guests have asked!
Where is the nearest local pub?
Just open one eye!
Why do you live in America?
At first, it was the life style and the weather, but now I would have to say America is my home. It has changed my life in such a positive direction, I could never see myself living anywhere that isn’t Warrenton, Virginia. I love it here! Fauquier County countryside has plenty of similarities to Ireland.
How is it that I feel so relaxed here?
Ireland has that peace and serenity feeling about it. It’s the locals and the beauty that make Ireland what it is. The Irish live for today and today is really all we have.
Why is the Guinness so good?
Guinness in Ireland is better for a few reasons. Guinness doesn’t travel well, and also the shorter the beer line the better the quality of product.
(next morning) Why is the Guinness so good?
Guinness the next morning is the answer to all the previous night’s headaches!
Did our horse win?
Us Irish love our horse racing. But because the craic in the pubs is so mighty, we tend to forget our horse just ran. The bookies are open on a daily basis, and what better way to start the day than with hope.
Where is the sauna/pool?
On these amazing golf trips you enjoy life so much, even the guys like to pamper their bodies with a nice swim and a sauna. It relaxes the body for a smooth and easy swing.
Why does every American think it rains here so much?
It’s funny, because it does rain here so often, but it seems like most Americans that visit Ireland tend to be blessed with great weather. So we need more American tourists to better the weather for our natives.
Is every piece of fish we eat caught that morning?
Fish in Ireland is spectacular!! And it should be, we are surrounded by water everywhere the eye can see.
