Recently voted the 34th-best golf course in the world. One of the first golf clubs to be affiliated with “Golf Union of Ireland”. This smashing piece of Kerry land dates back as far as 1889. Operated by The Athletic Club on behalf of The Commercial Cable Company. In the 1950s, the Waterville Golf Links ceased to exist. After years of hard work, Irish-born American architect, John Mulcahy, joined up with Ireland’s most famous architect, Eddie Hackett, and Masters Champion and Winged Foot Head Professional, Claude Harmon, to reopen Waterville Golf Links in 1973. The great Payne Stewart was Club Captain of Waterville, the last golf honor he would receive before his tragic death. The best golfers in the world have played this tremendous test, including Tiger Woods. Surrounded by Ballinskelligs Bay and glorious sand dunes, this golf course will make you wish you had 28 clubs in your bag.
